Friday, June 13th

We are back from Oklahoma with our new mustang, or as I like to call him "Ricky Bobby" He is a 3 year old bay gelding with a blaze. He is a pretty calm horse. Didn't play alot with him since it was almost dark by the time we got home. I did however get his neck tag off and teach him to lead a little. Can't wait till tomarrow. Buddy is not happy about the new horse. Hopefully he doesn't take it out on me later.

Saturday, June 14th

First official day of training for "RickyBobby". We worked on leading and desensitizing. He also let me pick up his front feet. Oh yeah, he also let me put a saddle on him. Not cinched up of course. He also likes to pose for the camera, and wear my hat.

Sunday, June 15th

Day 2 for RickyBobby and I would have to say he is doing really well. He let me saddle him today. He didn't get too excited about it . He didn't even buck. He takes things in stride. He let me get on and ride him around the round pen. I didn't teach him much under saddle, I figured he could go wherever he wanted as long as he wasn't bucking. GOOD DAY.

Saturday, June 21st

I have been busy busy busy, haven't taken pictures in a long time. Just been riding Ricky Bobby and Buddy everyday. Just working through some things with Buddy and teaching Ricky Bobby some new stuff. Today was bridge day. Ricky Bobby didn't take to it as fast as Buddy but we got it done. I was so tired after word I layed down to take a nap but Ricky Bobby wouldn't let me.

Tuesday, June 24th

Ricky Bobby was introduced to the tarp today. He really handled it well. we also worked on picking up his feet. He isn't scared of me handling his feet so the chore is standing still. I also introduced Ricky to the barrels. Piece of cake he likes to jump almost as much as Buddy. Buddy couldn't let Ricky hog all the camera time so he would run by us whenever I was teaching Ricky something new. What a fun evening.

Wednesday, June 25th

What a nice evening. Buddy has an abscess in his hoof so it was all about Ricky Bobby today. He stood great while I saddled him. He stood great while I got on him. He was nice and relaxed today. We worked on his reining today. I can almost ride him in one hand with a halter. Who says you cant teach a horse to neck rein in a halter. He is doing great. After our ride we learned to stand on the pedestal. Buddy got a little jealous and squeezed in between us. He bullied Ricky off the pedestal and got up their himself. What a goofball.
